The City of Zachary provides water, natural gas, sewer, and garbage collection services to residents and businesses. Please note that not every property receives all four services, and utility rates vary depending on whether the service address is located inside or outside the city limits.
Meter Reading
The City of Zachary is responsible for reading all water and natural gas meters. Meters are read monthly using an Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system, which provides accurate, reliable readings while improving efficiency and reducing the time needed to collect meter data.
The AMR system transfers meter readings directly into the billing process, helping ensure accurate monthly utility bills. We encourage customers to become familiar with the location of their water meter and periodically monitor it. Doing so can help identify unusual water usage and detect potential leaks early.
