The Regional Veterans Park and the City of Zachary are thrilled to present Zachary’s First Annual Veterans Day Parade, scheduled for Monday, November 11th, at approximately 9 a.m. The “Zachary Salute to Veterans Parade” will follow the Regional Veterans Park’s Annual Ceremony and begin at the Bank of Zachary, concluding at Zachary High School. Veterans of all ages are warmly invited to participate, with local antique car owners generously offering their vehicles to honor them along the parade route.
The antique cars will depart immediately following the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Regional Veterans Park, located behind Lane Hospital. Veterans interested in participating can reach out to Darren Spears, Regional Veterans Parade organizer, at darren.spears@zacharyschools.org or contact the City of Zachary Mayor’s Office at 225-654-0287.
Local antique car clubs are also coming together to support veterans in the parade. If you own an antique car and would like to drive a veteran along the route, please contact Darren Spears at darren.spears@zacharyschools.org or pick up a “Driver Form” at City Hall, 4700 Main Street.

Trick-or-treating in the City of Zachary will be held on Thursday, October 31 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Halloween night. Here are some tips for staying safe while trick-or-treating:
- Wear light-colored clothing and costumes
- Add reflective tape to your children’s costumes and bags
- Walk in well-lit areas
- Take a flashlight or glow stick
- Stay in groups of two or more
- Use a familiar well-lit route
In addition, The City of Zachary is hosting a Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 27, from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. in Downtown Zachary, along Lee and Virginia Streets! Kids can trick-or-treat from trunk to trunk, with over 40 businesses sponsoring decorated trunks and handing out treats to your litt
