The City of Zachary is notifying utility customers of changes to utility reconnection fees and policies that will take effect Monday, October 12, 2026.

Beginning October 12, the following reconnection fees will apply:

• Regular reconnection fee: $50
• After-hours or weekend reconnection fee: $75

The $75 after-hours/weekend reconnection fee is in addition to the applicable non-payment fee.

For water and gas services that have been disconnected due to non-payment, the following reconnection procedures will apply:

1. ‍Same-day reconnections: Payments received before 3:00 p.m. on a regular business day will be scheduled for reconnection the same day. Payments received after 3:00 p.m. will be scheduled for reconnection on the next business day.‍
2. Customer must be present: Customers must be home and available to meet the City technician for reconnection whenever water and/or gas services have previously been disconnected.‍
3. Additional charges: If applicable, meter tampering or meter damage charges may also be assessed.

The City of Zachary encourages customers to make utility payments by the required deadlines to avoid service interruption and additional fees.
