City of Zachary’s Bust Breast Cancer Jambalaya Fundraiser Sells Out, Supporting a Worthy Cause

The City of Zachary’s Bust Breast Cancer Jambalaya Fundraiser was a tremendous success, selling out as community members came together to support the fight against breast cancer.
The City extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who purchased a plate, contributed to the fundraiser, and helped make the event a success. The community’s generosity and support demonstrate Zachary’s commitment to making a difference for an important cause.
Special thanks go to Mike Alleman for preparing the delicious jambalaya and Francis Nezianya of Subway and fellow Rotarian for donating cookies. The City also recognizes the Zachary Rotary Club for hosting this wonderful fundraiser and MIS Technology Group for donating T-shirts. The contributions of these individuals, businesses, and organizations helped make the event possible.
A Special Visit from Belgium
The fundraiser also brought an unexpected international connection to Zachary. While jambalaya dinners were being served, Diana and Kurt Lachapelle, a couple visiting from Belgium, stopped by and purchased two plates.
The couple explained that they noticed the name of the City of Zachary while visiting the area. Because Zachary is also the name of their godchild, they decided to visit the City and experience the community for themselves.
During their visit, Diana and Kurt stopped by the Mayor’s Office and the Zachary Fire Department, where they received a City of Zachary promotional bag as a keepsake from their visit.
The City extends a warm welcome to Diana and Kurt and thanks them for taking the time to visit Zachary. Their story was a special reminder that community connections can reach far beyond our local borders.
The City of Zachary is grateful to everyone who participated in the Bust Breast Cancer Jambalaya Fundraiser. From the volunteers and donors to the residents who purchased meals, each contribution helped make the event a success.
Sold out, full hearts, and a community united for a great cause — thank you, Zachary!
