City of Zachary Announces New Bulk Waste Collection Service

The City of Zachary is pleased to offer a new bulk waste collection service bi-monthly, beginning September 1. Lionel Boudreaux Trucking has been contracted with the City of Zachary to provide curbside pickup two (2) times per month to residential and small commercial businesses. “To better serve the needs of the public, the City of Zachary has entered into a separate contract to pick up tree limbs, leaves, white goods, and furniture curbside,” says Mayor David Amrhein.

According to the contract, the provider has scheduled pick-up of bulk waste for residents and small businesses located North of Main/Hwy. 64 on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. Pick-up for locations South of Main/Hwy. 64 will receive service on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays.

Please keep in mind that this service is only authorized to pick-up 6 cubic yards per household/business including, tree limbs and trunks not exceeding 45 lbs. in weight or 6 feet in length, green waste that is pre-bagged, leaves, flowers, stalks, stems and tree trimmings, white goods, furniture or other waste that does not fit inside containers. Bulk waste pickup excludes construction debris, tires, auto parts, and garbage.

Waste Management will continue to serve as our regular household garbage and recycling provider and operate as normal.
