Flood Awareness Week

Mayor Amrhein issued a proclamation establishing Flood Awareness Week in the City of Zachary. As part of the city's participation in the National Flood Insurance Program's Community Rating System, this proclamation establishes the week of August 29 - September 2, 2022, as Flood Awareness Week in Zachary. The purpose of Flood Awareness Week is to provide education on and increase the awareness of flooding in the community.

The reduction of loss of life and property damage occurs when appropriate flood preparedness, control, and mitigation measures are taken before a flood. We encourage you to learn how to protect yourself and your property by increasing your knowledge of flood awareness. Free FEMA brochures are available at the City Annex Utility Payment Office and the Zachary Library.
